App: Angry Port Scanner: IP Scan (Android)
Developer: Osama Eshmilh
Last updated: August 22, 2026

In short. Your network scans run on your device and we never receive your scan results — with one exception you choose: the optional AI Insight feature. The app is free and supported by ads, so advertising and analytics services do collect device identifiers and usage data. You can remove ads and disable usage reporting at any time.

1. Who this policy covers

This policy explains how the Angry Port Scanner Android app handles information. It covers data handled by the app itself and by the third-party services built into it. If you use our iOS version, note that it ships without ads, analytics, or third-party SDKs and collects nothing.

2. Data that stays on your device

Network scanning is performed locally. The following never leaves your device, is never sent to us, and is deleted when you clear history or uninstall the app:

Device names are discovered using standard local protocols (mDNS/Bonjour, reverse DNS, NetBIOS, SNMP, TLS certificates). These queries are sent only to devices on your own network.

3. Data collected by the app and its services

Because the app is ad-supported, the following data is transmitted off your device:

Data typeCollected byPurpose
Device or other IDs
Advertising ID, app instance ID, push token, crash installation ID
Google AdMob, Google UMP, Firebase Analytics, Firebase Cloud Messaging, Crashlytics Advertising, analytics, app functionality
App activity
Feature usage events (scans started/completed, tools opened and used)
Firebase Analytics Analytics, product improvement
App info and performance
Crash logs, diagnostics, stability data
Firebase Crashlytics Fixing crashes and improving reliability
Approximate location
Coarse region, typically derived from IP address
Google AdMob Serving relevant ads
Purchase history
Ad-free subscription status
Google Play Billing Delivering your subscription

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, files, or precise GPS location. We do not sell your personal information.

4. AI Insight (optional feature)

Subscribers can tap Analyze with AI on a device's detail screen. Only when you tap that button, information about that one device is sent to a third-party AI provider to generate a description and security assessment. This includes the device's IP address, hostname, detected vendor, open ports, and service banners.

Please note: device hostnames on home networks sometimes contain personal names (for example, Johns-MacBook-Pro). If you would rather not share that, simply do not use the AI Insight feature — every other part of the app works without it.

This feature is never triggered automatically. No scan data is sent unless you tap the button.

5. Permissions and why they are needed

6. Third-party services

These services operate under their own privacy policies:

7. Your choices

8. Data retention

Scan history stays on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app. Analytics and crash data are retained by Google according to their published retention periods. AI Insight requests are handled by the AI provider under their policy; we do not store them.

9. Children

This app is a networking utility intended for general audiences and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us and we will address it.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict use of your personal data, or to object to processing (for example under the GDPR or CCPA/CPRA). Because we do not operate user accounts and do not hold your scan data, most requests are best handled through the in-app controls in section 7 or through Google's privacy tools. For anything else, contact us and we will respond within the time required by applicable law.

11. Security

Data sent to advertising, analytics, and AI services is transmitted over encrypted connections. No method of transmission is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect the limited data involved.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. The "Last updated" date above will reflect any revision, and significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
